Outdoor group training has become increasingly popular in recent years as a fun & social activity to burn some calories and increase physical fitness. Group training offers a wide range of activities, style and focus varying from trainer to trainer.

As well as fun social atmosphere of training in a group, another advantage is that the cost is kept low due to the amount of paying participants. A disadvantage is that the trainer is less able to offer close attention and instruction to each individual in the group, as he or she will have to monitor and advise all members of the group at once.

The DHPT group fitness program incorporates the following training styles:

Circuit Training:
Circuit training involves a selection of different stations comprising of a different exercise or piece of exercise equipment. Each participant performs either a set number of repetitions, or the maximum amount of reps possible within a set period of time. At the completion of the station, each participant moves to the next station and the circuit continues.

Resistance Training:
Push ups, squats, lunges, calf raises, bicep curls, tricep extensions! Bodyweight and high rep resistance training for muscle toning and conditioning.

Bosu & Fitball Training:
Balance, core stability and abdominal work on the Bosu and Fitball.

Cardio Kickboxing:
Boxing and Kickboxing drills, kick shield and focus pad work.

Interval Training:
Due to the variety of exercises and activities, the heart rate varies throughout the workout. This results in increased cardiovascular fitness as well as the burning of body fat stores.

The Dave Hargreaves Personal Training Outdoor Group Fitness is run every Saturday afternoon at a cost of $15 per participant, or $50 per month. Watch the site for updates as we add more sessions throughout the week.
