November’s update

plenty has been going on but i guess i’ve taken to just posting status updates on facebook instead of blogging. I’ll have to try get back into the habit.

So tomorrow I start my new program. I think my arm is ready to start using more dumbells and other free weights again, and since i’ve just finished doing a lot of high weight – low rep stuff I’m about ready to progress to a hypertrophy period where hopefully I’ll get some good results.

Main focus for this period is on all the lagging parts that need to catch up to the more responsive parts. I think i’ve come up with a really good chest routine with a hell of a lot of pre-fatiguing before getting into some decline and incline dumbell press. I’ve come to the conclusion that i’ve been letting my front deltoids do too much of the work on bench press, so i’m going to correct my technique and force the pecs to do all the work like they should do!

Also on shoulders day my focus will be more on the rear delt. The front delts are already disproportionate, so I’ll leave those out and do an extra rear delt exercise instead.

Other things I have in mind are working the middle & upper back hard to retract my shoulders a little bit, some front squats to get some growth and definition into my quads, and continuing to improve my deadlifts. I’ve shied away from the deadlift in the past but recently i’ve gotten some advice and improved my technique a lot, so now i’m good to go!

Also since last update I’ve bought a floor to ceiling speed ball which i work out on at home in the evenings (apart from the past week due to the heat wave that’s going on here), and we’re doing outdoor fitness on weekends as well, trying to get good and ripped for the summer!
