Well today was one of those days. I went in to do my new back routine and it seemed like everyone had the same idea because a lot of people were training back and using all the machines I wanted – so, I had to swap things around a little bit, but it was all good in the end.
Here’s the run down of what I’m doing for back this month;
Warm up with 2 x 25 back hyper extensions super set with 2 x 15 side crunches.
Deadlifts: 18, 12, 10 & 8 reps, going a little heavier each time. Same theory as I outlined for my bench press yesterday.
Close grip lat pulldown: 1 x 18 and 3 x 12 reps.
Row machine: 1 x 18 and 3 x 12 reps. I was planning on using a high row machine but it was in use already so I tried a different machine and used an underhand grip. It seemed to hit the lats and rhomboids nicely, so I am going to stick with it.
Reverse Cable Flyes: Ok I have to admit, I skipped these because all the cable machines were in use and I was starting to run out of steam a little and wanted a meal!
Chin Ups: Did pretty badly on these due to having done so much lat work already. In theory if i had done the Reverse Flyes before these, I think I would have gone better. We’ll see next week I guess.
I also have to admit I missed my boxing training tonight as well, due to losing track of time a bit. By the time I thought i was ready to go, it was a bit late and I didn’t want to disturb the neighbours. Sometimes things don’t go exactly to plan, but there’s always tomorrow!
Tonight I’ve written a new article on how to add some variety to your training program, which will go online in the next couple of days once I’ve reviewed it. Also I have a bit of an idea for a training video which I will try and get made soon. I really have to get some photos up on here as well! All I have at the moment is from my music career, which isn’t really suitable. So, I’m looking into having some new photos taken soon and those will go up as soon as possible.
That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
