Well i’ve been a bit slack on updating this thing but i can tell you I have not been slack in the gym!

The arm injury is still not quite at 100%, but it’s close enough that I’ve been getting in some really good workouts and pushing some respectable amounts of weights for 10 – 12 reps.

For the past couple of weeks i’ve been taking Black Powder pre-gym and then Purple Wraath once I’m warmed up and into my first few sets. Of course I’ve had the Black Powder before, but the Purple Wraath is new for me and this stuff was one hell of a good investment.

The first time I took it was chest day. I took the BP at home, cranked up some Blaze Bayley in the car on the way to gym and by the time I got there I was fired up in a big way. Got warmed up and took the 1st scoop of PW while using the smith machine for incline press. Had to load the bar up with an extra 10k compared to what I had lifted the previous week, and still powered through all 10 reps.

Took the 2nd scoop of PW and by this time I was really feeling an intense focus, like nothing else existed apart from having to lift the next set of weights. I went on to my supersets of Incline DB Flyes and Flat DB Press and powered through those as well, pacing (more like storming) up and down the gym like a maniac between sets. Next up was Cable Cross Overs and in my over-enthusiasm I misread my program card and ended up starting with 25 reps at the weight that I’d previously only managed 12 reps the week before.

After all this… I felt like I couldn’t stop yet, so I went to the Machine Press and cranked out 2 sets of 25 and one set of 15 until I was satisfied. This stuff was pretty amazing!

That was day one… since then the mental effects of teh supplements have not been anywhere near as extreme, but the workouts have still been awesome. I’m really looking forward to taking my measurements in another 2 weeks time, because I’m pretty sure I can already see some fairly significant changes – which I guess is to be expected after losing a bit of size and pump due to the injury.

Anyway if anyone out there is considering trying a new supplement, both Black Powder (MRI) and Purple Wraath (Controlled Labs) have my recommendation!

Oh the other interesting thing I’ve found is that on training days my appetite is insatiable. I’m not sure if that’s to do with the supplements or just because I’m in a rebuilding phase. I’ll eat a decent sized meal and then 2 hours later be ravenous again. My nutrition has been pretty good lately so I’ll be interested to do the maths on what I’ve been consuming on a big training day and workout out the total calories and levels of carbs, protein and fats.
