Most people who know me well enough to be reading this would already be aware that for most of this year I’ve been studying with Fitnation towards becoming a qualified personal trainer. I’m still not quite sure if i intend to try to make a full time career of this, or just do it on the side while staying at my security job.

Anyway i’ve been using what i’ve learned and incorporating it all into my training and nutrition plans, and getting good results.

Last night was arms training and it was good. I think i must have timed my supplements and meals pretty well, because once i took my mri blackpowder (about 2 hours after my dymatize protien shake) i had a lot of enthusiasm and energy for training. This is at the end of a 12 hour day at work as well, so it’s always extra good when you do a brutal session at the end of a 12 hour work day when most people would be too soft to go and train!

So biceps and triceps, at the gym near work which meant i had to improvise a little bit due to some diferent equipment to what is at my usual gym. Did some spider curls to finish off, for the first time in a few years which was pretty punishing. Had a great pump by the end of it. My lifts are actually not all that heavy, but i try to use good technique and my program has a scientific choice of varying rep ranges for strength, neural adaption and muscle hypertrophy. I’ll talk more about this in a later entry.

Anyway, after training I was ravenous and caught a taxi home for another shake, a heap of french toast and some tofu. I was in a tremendously good mood by the time I got home as well. The post-training rush is always pretty strong after arms on a work day, but with the blackpowder it’s on a manic level.

This weekend i won’t make it to the gym due to working (gym closes before i get out of work) but i’ll be eating well and perhaps doing some extra stuff at home. 40 flights of stairs on my security patrols all counts towards fat burning as well!
