36th Birthday fitness report

Actually I am about a week late with this update, but yes, I just turned 36 years old! Can you believe it? It really doesn’t seem like that long ago that I wrote my Thoughts On Training And Turning 35 post for my last birthday. Crazy innit?

Anyway I was thinking about this again, and especially after re-reading my post from this time last year I realised I’ve probably had my best results ever in the past 12 months. Which is a pretty nice thing to be able to say when you’re at an age where a lot of people have long since given up on being fit and healthy and looking in good shape.

I’d say I’ve made pretty good slow and steady progress over the past 10 or so years since I started training to get back into shape after recovering from my thyroid surgery. This year though, I really want to make a quantum leap forward and get some amazing results. I’m not really satisfied looking “pretty good for my age”, I want to look “damn good even for someone 10 years younger”.

So far though I am not off to the best start, due to coming down with a touch of bronchitis in the last few weeks. Also the weather has turned cold and wet, which has weakened my resolve as far as getting up early for my morning jog. I feel a little bit lazy for not getting up and getting out there, but at the same time I don’t think it would be very sensible when I’m trying to get over bronchitis. I will have to start hitting the treadmill at gym in the morning if it is too wet outside for jogging.

I’m still waiting on an attachment for the new computer so that I can work on getting my cooking video online, but hopefully that will happen soon!
